The Kathleen Deal

From World Shithead - The International Shithead Federation

The Kathleen Deal is a dealing technique occasionally seen amongst experienced Shithead players from continental Europe, in which cards are dealt to each player sequentially in groups of three, rather than the more conventional method of dealing cards to each player one at a time.

The implications of the Kathleen Deal are a source of much debate amongst seasoned Shithead aficionados, with advocates of the Kathleen Deal believing it to be a highly efficient method of distributing the cards and keeping the game flowing, with detractors proposing that it affects the randomness of the card distribution compared to conventional dealing methods if it is suddenly used in-game.

There is no conclusive mathematical evidence yet of the Kathleen Deal influencing the randomness of card distribution in Shithead mid-game either positively of negatively, and the ISF believes that with sufficient funding it may be possible to commission specific academic research into the topic.
